Week 38-25 Spring Weather

WEEK 38-25 SEPTEMBER

Hi Everyone, welcome to the spring season blues. Rainfall coupled with high winds has been a real challenge this year, especially as we approach spring and Christmas our usual crazy weather season.

This week our focus and goal was to attempt to install a solar hybrid system (solar system with batteries connected), See below.

Solar Rails

Installation of solar rails on Tin roof

  • Rail (structure that supports the solar panels)

Battery Installation

Battery Installation on Cementsheet

  • Battery mounted and cementsheet installed to protect the property if the worst were to happen
  • Wire all the DC cables from the upper storey roof and lower storey roof

AC Solar & Battery Cables

Cabling from main switchboard to inverter location

  • Wire the AC cables, we use orange circular cables for its ability to sustain high current flow involved in the mains cabling from the solar inverter to power your home with lower losses and higher revenue, helping to avoid any overheating and possible bad situations. We cable all our wiring high to avoid mechanical damage and thermal insulation overheating the wiring.

Summary So as usual in Melbourne when the customer wasn't available the weather was good, and when the scheduled date came we spent more time off the roof than on the roof due to rain and high winds, Solar in Melbourne lol.

We normally do 2-3 jobs per week but this week we could only get 3/4 of one job done, as we value the safety of our staff members first. This is especially important at the moment as I am training two new staff members and helping them understand the critical dangers of our high risk work above all.
