Government Rebates & Incentives

Your Government Rebates

Victoria 2026

The Cheaper Homes Battery Rebate attached to the STC program reduces in value every six months, therefore the cost to install a battery increases the longer you wait.

This has always been the case, customers in the early 2000 said solar wasn't worth the $15,000 installation cost, however those that understood investment stategies had them installed, then had no gas or electric bills till 2025 when the Feed in Tarrif FiT $0.65 scheme ended.

As the STC program slowly comes to a close the battery rebate and solar rebate alike are on a slow decline until it ends in 2030. The scheme was built to create a renewables industry in Australia back in 1999 and it worked.

To understand what is happening, the government is incentivising renewable technologies to ease the burden on aging infrastructure, cut emissions and save money for the people in Australia.

So where are we at today in 2026 before the December cut off?
