Solar Edge Battery
The battery module comes as a single piece that can be wired to the inverter via a DC battery expansion box. An additional box is required to create a backup configuration, so you may have power when the street lights go out.
Solar edge requires alot of data communication cables between all the hardware to be able to function, this makes it time consuming and a little more complex to install.
Pros
- Single module and wall mountable
- Backup power capable
- Individual component optimised to allow solar to generate in shaded conditions
Cons
- Complex architecture
- Difficult to find qualified technicians in the future
- Costly installation and repairs
- When a component in the solar system fails, the whole system can fail
